Summary

What is death? Is it the cessation of life or a part of the continuum of existence?
Is it to be feared, or loved and embraced?
What are these relationships that we carry through our lives and beyond them?
How can one gain enough spiritual knowledge and experience that one comes out of this cycle of rebirth?
These are just a few of the many aspects that Sadhguru explores in Death。 He is talking from a place where various spiritual planes exist。 He carefully explains each plane and answers some most-asked questions of him。 Now what happens needs to be understood from that point of view。 And once that is understood, all mourning, all pain, all fear and all that that holds us back melts away。
You can simply be-without the accompanying drama。

Phenominal book towards insight of death

Rational says – what science cannot prove, I won't believe that。 Ask a rationalist – why the universe is expanding and contracting at the same time? Why does the pace of the interstellar bodies are so perfectly aligned? Who initiated the big-bang? Who was that 'subject' who initiated the universe? Scientists and rationalists (confused people, in fact) just ditch everything anything and everything they don't know。 And this is, to be frank, the worst dogmatic behaviour I have come across! It takes u to a different zone altogether。 It took me to a spiritual journey without drenching me in loads of information。 Its a powerful book that will give you goosebumps and will force you to think and feel what you have never felt before!

All my questions from childhood were answered!

A great detailed book on the analysis of the subject Death。 With a lot of anecdotes, actually interesting ones。 Sadhguru holds a mastery over this subject in the light of Yoga teachings。 But there were a lot of things repetitive like few things he had talked about in his lectures so nothing out of new。 I like the way he explains the subject so vividly。

Chirag

It is a great book overall but some points are too spiritual and complex to get them at first but definitely a must try

A must read for all people。 If you are not able to live well, at least you should know how to die well。 It is essential for you existentially。

Incredibly eye-opening and powerful。 It inspired me to reflect on my mortality in a very deep and honest way。

I liked this book。 His style is different。 Not the usually revelatory Hindu spiritual literature。 His style is conversational and filled with details。 And he throws in alot of examples from his personal life。

This is a beautiful book。 If you can live a beautiful life, this book might be unnecessary。 I think the notion of this book is for those who cannot live spiritually well, at least they can die well。 The notion of living spiritually well is likely described better in Inner Engineering。 I’ve yet to read it but I’ve read a lot of Osho and they say a lot the same。 Spiritually well would be dissolving our identity and then ourselves and moving from individuality to a universal experience。 In this boo This is a beautiful book。 If you can live a beautiful life, this book might be unnecessary。 I think the notion of this book is for those who cannot live spiritually well, at least they can die well。 The notion of living spiritually well is likely described better in Inner Engineering。 I’ve yet to read it but I’ve read a lot of Osho and they say a lot the same。 Spiritually well would be dissolving our identity and then ourselves and moving from individuality to a universal experience。 In this book, I’d assume that spiritually well also mean thinning out or using up your karmic memory。 I’m sure Sadhguru has a book on karma too。 I’ve yet to read。 I’m pretty unfamiliar with the karma concept。 I have a very basic grasp of it。 。。。more

There are some interesting ideas here and there。 For example the concept of various pranas , sheaths that compose our body et al。 However many other aspects are the same that he tells in his videos。 The book should be read once as it covers a very different topic but dont take it as very engaging

I don't know where to start with what I do not like about what is in this book。I have made notes all over the pages in order to remind myself over what I did not like, found ludicrous, ominous and nauseous。Even if I read it a few months ago, the feeling of having read the repetitive and deluded rant of someone with a god complex, has stuck with me。However, I understand that I somewhat single myself out by not liking this thing。 But it is how it is。 I don't know where to start with what I do not like about what is in this book。I have made notes all over the pages in order to remind myself over what I did not like, found ludicrous, ominous and nauseous。Even if I read it a few months ago, the feeling of having read the repetitive and deluded rant of someone with a god complex, has stuck with me。However, I understand that I somewhat single myself out by not liking this thing。 But it is how it is。 。。。more

Most part of it was interesting but sometimes I found it unsatisfied as reader where he just explained things are but no further explanation on the why part of it。 It mostly revolves around how you can prepare for your death。。You need to be open minded to read this book, probably accepting things that Sadhuguru explained, as one of the possibilities of nature。。 otherwise the book would sound completely senseless and old fashioned to you。。

I am rating this 3 because a lot of explanation doesn't go beyond words like certain way, certain dimensions, in a way, etc。 What is under that abstraction is left to the reader。 May be it was my desire to understand them in a deeper way as i have heard other guru's especially swami chinmayananda breaking the explanation down to the first principles。The book is easy to read as it goes like Sadguru's conversation。 At times you would feel isn't this overboard if you are rationally inclined。 Takeaw I am rating this 3 because a lot of explanation doesn't go beyond words like certain way, certain dimensions, in a way, etc。 What is under that abstraction is left to the reader。 May be it was my desire to understand them in a deeper way as i have heard other guru's especially swami chinmayananda breaking the explanation down to the first principles。The book is easy to read as it goes like Sadguru's conversation。 At times you would feel isn't this overboard if you are rationally inclined。 Takeaways are it gives a good introductory explanation to why we hindu's do the elaborate death rituals。 But what's wonderful about the book is it talks about living to one's full potential in current life rather than seek connections to the past。 So this book is also a lot about living。 I had read victor frankls man's search for meaning, i would recommend one reads this in combination to discover newer connections。 。。。more
